Fabriano (Faber-Janus) è una città nata sul fiume Giano per l’industria e i commerci. Lungo il fiume, oggi quasi completamente interrato, sono ancora presenti i resti di mulini, concerie e gualchiere; portici e loggiati per una intensa vita di produzione, di relazioni e di scambi.

La nuova caserma è un volume netto, posto lungo il viale di accesso alla città storica, scandito a tratti dal ritmo delle colonne. La luce sui mattoni rossi e l’ombra portata in profondità dentro la fabbrica preludono agli antichi opifici e ai palazzi della città, scavati anch’essi dai portici e dalle logge.

Fabriano (Faber-Janus) is a city born on the Janus river for industry and trade. Along the river, today almost completely underground, there are still the remains of mills, tanneries and fullers; arcades and loggias for an intense life of production, relationships and exchanges.

The new barracks is a net volume, located along the access road to the historic city, marked at times by the rhythm of the columns. The light on the red bricks and the shadow brought deep inside the factory are a prelude to the ancient factories and palaces of the city, also them excavated from the arcades and loggias.
