ITA – 1988 – La casa-bottega di Gina, Camerino (1988).

La piccola costruzione incassata in un muro di cinta si affaccia sulla scena urbana soltanto con il prospetto anteriore; lo stesso muro fornisce i mattoni per la sua costruzione. I materiali della composizione, addensati sulla facciata, sono presenti lungo il percorso di avvicinamento al centro cittadino e riemergono dalla suggestione di un arco di tempo quasi infinito che va dall’antichità classica alle ricostruzioni del secolo scorso. Ho cercato di entrare in questo vortice temporale senza emulazioni o citazioni di stile ma soltanto evocando, per gioco, lo spirito del luogo.

The small building embedded in a boundary wall overlooks the urban scene only with the front elevation; the same wall provides the bricks for its construction. The materials of the composition, thickened on the facade, are present along the approach path to the city center and re-emerge from the suggestion of an almost infinite span of time ranging from classical antiquity to the reconstructions of the last century. I tried to enter this temporal vortex without emulations or style references but only evoking, for fun, the spirit of the place.
